[T]HREE men have admitted being involved in a cannabis supply plot.

Edward Charles Brand, 21, Scott Jon Smith, 28, and 35-year-old Ben Michael Vickary appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).

During a hearing in front of Judge Barbara Forrester, they entered guilty pleas to one charge. This states that between October 1, 2016, and March 15 this year they conspired to supply class B cannabis to another.

Lawyers representing Vickary and Smith told the court a basis of plea had been proposed in respect of each of the men. Brand’s lawyer said there was no such basis for his guilty plea.

Judge Forrester adjourned the case, and asked for pre-sentence reports to be prepared on each man by probation service representatives.

Brand, of Briar Bank, and Vickary, of Garden Street, Edentown, both Carlisle; and Smith, of Duke Street, Whitehaven, are due to be sentenced at the crown court on a date to be fixed.

In the meantime they were each granted unconditional bail by the judge.
