[A] MAN caught with a blade and two class A drugs inside a car has been jailed for 30 weeks.
Daniel Hayton, 35, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (MON) for a string of offences. A number of these were committed on October 23 last year when police approached a vehicle at Clayton Avenue in Cleator Moor.
Crack cocaine was found on the floor of the vehicle, cocaine was recovered from Hayton’s sock and scores of diazepam tablets were also located. So, too, was a knife.
On January 2, Hayton stole from a shop in Cleator Moor, and was also due to be re-sentenced for two further crimes after a previous court community order was revoked due to poor progress.
Hayton, of Arlecdon Road, Arlecdon, admitted possession of both class A crack cocaine and cocaine, class C diazepam, knife possession and shop theft.
He was jailed for a total of 30 weeks by Recorder Louise Brandon, who told him: “You have shown a blatant disregard for your bail conditions, committing offences one after the other.”
