[P]OLICE are investigating the report of theft of an old concrete milepost that has been taken from the A6 between February 2018 and June 2018.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The post is described as 110cm high, 40cm wide, with markings of: 4 MILES SHAP, and 6 1/2 MILES PENRITH.
“The post, which belongs to the local council, is of great historic value and was about to be restored.”
Police are appealing for anyone who may have information on the posts whereabouts, or who has been offered to purchase it, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 166 of the 3rd of July, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
