[A] £180,000 road improvement project will begin on a 2km stretch of the A592 in September. The works, which are scheduled to last for two weeks, will commence from Monday 10 September.
Cumbria County Council’s Highways department will carry out resurfacing works between the Tower Wood Outdoor Centre and Blakeholme Wray on the A592, with evening road closures planned to facilitate the works from 6.30pm each day. The work is being carried out during the evening to minimise the impact on tourism and businesses and the road will be fully open by 5am each day. No works are planned for the weekend but this may change if any shifts are lost to inclement weather.
There will be limited access to properties during the closure periods, but a site supervisor from our surfacing supplier, Aggregate Industries will be on hand to discuss any access requirements.
