Sellafield’s Snowball Charity Trust have chosen to Pay For a Day of Care at Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice as part of the trusts 40th Anniversary Year.

On Friday 19 October representatives from the Snowball Charity Trust visited the children’s hospice to see first hand the care, support and activities provided to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses. The day also coincided with the day of care the Trust has chosen to pay for.

Willie Reid, Chair of Sellafield Charity Snowball, “During our 40 years the Snowball has awarded over £2M to more than 1000 local charities such as Jigsaw that are woven in to the fabric of caring and support for our fellow Cumbrians. We look forward to continuing our contribution for another 40 years.”

Natalie Bingham, Corporate Relationship Co-ordinator at Jigsaw said; ‘’Sellafield have supported Jigsaw for a number of years now, most recently with the Snowball Trust funding toys and equipment for our recently renovated sensory room. We are thrilled that they continue to support us and paying for a day’s care is a fantastic way to celebrate their anniversary! From everybody at Jigsaw, thank you so much for your support and generosity – You are helping to make a real difference to children and young adults from across Cumbria, with life limiting conditions.’’

Pay for a Day is a unique opportunity for every individual, family, company or organisation in Cumbria to make a real, immediate contribution to the care of the most vulnerable children in the county. Pay for a Day allows you to pay for the entire running costs of Jigsaw service – for a whole 24 hours. People can choose the day and choose how to raise the money.

Each day Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice needs to raise £2,126.46 from community donations to provide care, support and activities to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses. This care, support and compassion is extended to all the patients family, friends and carers.
