Three hurt in Barrow flat fire

Three people and a dog have been rescue from a flat fire in Barrow.

At 12:3am today, Thursday 25 April, three fire engines from Barrow, Ulverston and Walney were mobilised to a fire involving a first floor flat fire on Egerton Court, Barrow.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued three people and one dog from the flat.

“They used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

“The casualties were conveyed to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.”
