The community spirit in Carlisle is strong, with local business keen to give something back to the next generation. This year to celebrate their 5th Birthday The Halston is pledging their support to local charity Carlisle Youth Zone.
Carlisle Youth Zone welcomes more than 1,200 young people through its doors each week with a membership that represents almost 40% of the youth population of Carlisle. Using a mix of activities, opportunities and role models, young people are inspired to try new things, broaden their horizons, develop confidence, deal with adversity and to reach their full potential.
Through a spectacular evening of entertainment on Friday 12 July, The Halston, which has been a catalyst for regeneration around Warwick Road in Carlisle, will be raising money for the charity. The venue presents a night of revelry hosted by Velma Von Bon Bon featuring performances by drumming troupe Deadbeats, circus surprises from Snookie Mono, a teasing treat from international burlesque dynamo Miss Giddy Heights, contortionist Hannah Finn and live music from Manchester favourites Bourbon Street Band.
There will also be a charity auction and raffle on the night hosted by Colin West with some fabulous items up for bidding. All ticket profits from the event will go directly to the Carlisle Youth Zone. The event has been made possible by the generous support of the sponsors.
Claire Hughes Business Development Manager The Halston says, ‘Our 5th Birthday Ball offers people the chance to enjoy a fabulous evening of entertainment whilst supporting an essential local youth charity that is making a huge impact on the wellbeing of young people in the city. Our staff chose Carlisle Youth Zone as The Halston’s charity of the year and we’re keen to use this celebration to give back to the community.’
