WHITEHAVEN’S Beacon Portal welcomes a midsummer craft fair on Saturday June 22, along with a range of other attractions on the day.
Visitor services manager at the Beacon Museum, Pamela Telford, said: “We will have a great range of local crafters offering a fantastic variety, from finely carved wooden crafts to exciting local foods and hand-made health and beauty products.
“We have run these events in the past and more and more people are coming along. That’s a by-product of the quality products on offer, and the enjoyment of buying local. Entry is free and there will be lots of other things happening, so there’s plenty of reasons to pop along.”
During the day, Whitehaven Coastguard and Fire Service will attend to show the public what they do, as will representatives from Cumbria Blood Bikes.
Visitors can get a flavour of the upcoming Discover the Vikings exhibition, with Norse object handling and Viking face painting also taking place throughout the day.
Entry to the museum will be half price,. Please note certain galleries will be inaccessible as they will be being prepared for the Discover the Vikings opening on the following Saturday.
The Midsummer Craft Fair runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday June 22 in the Beacon Portal. Entry is free and there is pay and display parking on site. For further information, check out the Beacon Museum website and Facebook page.
