Police are investigating an assault which occurred on Sunday 7 July at the taxi rank on Court Square Brow near the train station in Carlisle city centre.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 28-year-old man from Wigton suffered a broken jaw as a result of a single punch.
“The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his late twenties to early thirties, around 5’8” tall with average build, medium length mousy blond hair which was pushed over to one side, he had stubble on his cheeks and chin, he was wearing a light grey coloured long sleeve top either a thin jumper or t-shirt and light grey coloured trousers.
“The taxi rank was busy at the time of the assault and police are keen to identify a group of females who were stood behind the victim.”
