A man from Carlisle has appeared in court and admitted assaulting his partner during an argument between the couple in their home on September 27,
Appearing before Carlisle Magistrates Court was Jacek Zygadlo, 31, he gave his address as Welsh Road, Carlisle and his nationally as Polish.
He pleaded guilty during an earlier hearing to assault by beating on his partner of three-years, the court was told his partner returned home from taking their two young children to a play-centre, when she entered their home she found Zygadlo was drinking, an argument started and he used very abusive words towards her, she went to their bedroom and was pushed down on the bed as one of the young children was playing on the floor with his toys.
Magistrates were told that he slapped the right side of his partners face, a victims statement was read out to the court saying she “had had enough of him, and he has a problem with cannabis”.
He then went downstairs and threatened to “cut his wrists” as he cannot live without her he told the court.
After magistrates read a pre-sentence report Zygadlo was sentenced to a one-year community order with two requirements, that he completes 140 hours of unpaid work in the community, and 20-rehabilitation days run by the Probation Service, a restraining order was imposed not go to the victims home address and to have no contact with her, this will last until a further order, he will pay compensation to the victim of £100 also court costs of £175.
