Two people have been rescued from a house fire in Carlisle.
Fire crews were called to a fire on Bower Street at 9:38pm yesterday, Thursday 24 October.
A neighbour rescued a man and woman from the address before the arrival of the fire service.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two fire engines attended a building fire on Bower Street, Carlisle.
“On arrival crews found a fire involving a domestic property and used two breathing apparatus, four hose reels and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were in attendance approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.”
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 10:43pm and sent one ambulance to the scene.
“A woman, aged in her 80s was treated for suspect smoke inhalation.”
