THREE members of staff from Carlisle Mencap will be striding out this Saturday (Nov 9) around local beauty spot Talkin Tarn to raise money for the charity that provides support and services for people with learning disabilities.
The sponsored walk will feature chief executive Sheila Gregory and team leaders Morag Rowell and Rachael McGarry, and is called ’21 At 21’ – to mark the 21st year that Sheila has been CEO of the charity. The team of three plan to complete 16 circuits of the path around the tarn, near Brampton, which is roughly 21 miles in distance.
The plan is to start the walk about 8am in the morning and complete the challenge by sunset. Donations to the charity will also be welcome on the day.
