Shop workers threatened in Workington armed robbery

Police are investigating an incident of robbery at the McColl’s store on Harrington Road, Workington.

The unknown offender entered the shop at approximately 11pm last night (28 October) before reportedly threatening two members of staff with a knife. The offender then left the shop with a small amount of money.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The offender is described as a white male, around 5ft 10ins and of medium build. He was wearing dark clothing.

“No injuries were reported in the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
