Residents are being reminded about changes to bin collections in Allerdale over the Easter period.
Collections will take place as normal on Good Friday (April 2, 2021) but there will be no collections on Easter Monday (April 5, 2021).
Therefore, collections in the week commencing April 5 will take place one day later than normal for example, collections due on Monday, April 5 will happen on Tuesday, April 6 and collections scheduled for Friday, April, 9 will take place on Saturday, April 10.
Householders can check their collection days – and download a yearly calendar – on the council’s website at www.allerdale.gov.uk/bincollections.
Residents are also reminded that garden waste collections have now also resumed across the borough.
Customer services changes
The council’s customer services team will be available on the phone and via the webchat function on the website until 5pm on April 1 and from then will close during Easter weekend. Customer services will reopen from 9am on Tuesday, April 6.
Customers are reminded that council offices remain closed for face-to-face contact.
Issues such as dog fouling, littering and fly-tipping can continue to be reported through the council’s website at https://www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/report/ and the ‘myAllerdale’ mobile app.
Customers can also use the website to check their eligibility for housing and council tax benefits, make an application, as well as access their benefit and council tax account. This service is also available for landlords with tenants on housing benefit.
