A man has been sentenced after he kicked out at police and spat and urinated in his cell.
Joseph Daniel Dignam appeared before Workington’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday.
He admitted assaulting a police officer on December 18 last year.
Dignam, of Newlands Lane South in Workington, also admitted criminal damage at Workington police station on the same day.
A third charge, which he admitted, involved Dignam resisting a police officer in the execution of her duty.
The 28-year-old also pleaded guilty to behaving in a violent manner by kicking out at officers, spitting and urinating in his cell and kicking his cell door. This also took place on the same day.
He was given a community order requiring him to complete 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days, he was fined £120, was told to pay £32 in compensation, a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
