A woman has been taken to hospital after being found unconscious on a Workington street.
At around 2.40pm, the woman in her 20s was found on the corner of Milburn Street and Gladstone Street by police officers.
She appeared to be unconscious but had no immediately visible injuries.
Officers assisted with first aid until an ambulance arrived to take her to hospital.
Traffic was prevented from driving down the street while emergency services were in attendance.
A dog was seen being put into the back of a police van and it is understood the animal belonged to the woman, so was taken into the care of the police temporarily.
