Two south Cumbrians made winning debuts for North Wales Crusaders after late switches to their new club.
Connor Terrill and Ethan Kelly both started on the bench at Hunslet but played their parts as the Welsh visitors completed a 34-24 victory.
Terrill, 19, is a young prop with Barrow who has still to make his debut for the Furness club and has been sent out on a month’s loan to gain match experience.
Kelly, 25, joined Whitehaven from amateur club Millom in 2019 and injuries have restricted his appearances but he has joined Crusaders on a permanent deal.
Both went straight onto the bench at Hunslet where the win enabled the Crusaders to leapfrog their opponents into a play-off berth.
Coach Anthony Murray, who is a former player and coach at Barrow, said: ”The two lads will boost our squad as we aim to make the play-offs.”
