A Whitehaven woman facing allegations of affray and illegal possession of a kitchen knife in public will stand trial later this year.
Courtney Kirkbride, 24, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today.
Kirkbride faces two charges. One alleges affray and using or threatening unlawful violence towards another.
A second charge alleges she had a bladed article — a kitchen knife — without good reason or lawful authority in a public place, at Meadow Road in Whitehaven.
Both allegations relate to April 3 this year.
Kirkbride, of Latrigg Road, Whitehaven, pleaded not guilty to both charges during a short hearing in front of Recorder David Temkin QC.
She is now due to stand trial in front of a jury at the crown court. This is set to start in the week of December 20.
In the meantime, Kirkbride was granted bail by the judge on condition that she does not contact a named female.
She was also reminded of the need to provide a statement in the case which outlines her defence to the allegations and the issues she takes with prosecution evidence.
