Cockermouth’s Kirkgate Centre is helping launch the school holidays with a bang as the cinema screens its first eagerly awaited film for young audiences since reopening.
The daily showings of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway from Monday July 19 to Friday July 23 are at 11am and on Saturday July 24, screenings are at 10am and 6pm.
In the film, the lovable rogue Peter is back alongside Bea and Thomas. The rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.
Doors open an hour before each of the screenings, with refreshments on offer in the Egremont Room bar. Youngsters will also have the opportunity to take part in a colouring competition.
Peter Rabbit colouring sheets will be available before each show. First prize will be a cuddly Peter Rabbit toy with activity books for the runners up.
