Jasmine Purdy, of AW Jenkinson

A worker at AW Jenkinson Forest Products has been named student of the year by the CIPD due to her dedication and passion.

Jasmine Purdy, 21, completed a level three diploma in human resources practice at Kendal College while working as an administrative assistant at the Eden firm.

She also gained a foundation certificate and associate professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

The former Queen Elizabeth Grammar School pupil completed her qualification while working in the HR office and other departments such as the weighbridge at AW Jenkinson Forest Products in Clifton, near Penrith.

Jasmine, who lives in Great Salkeld, was praised by the CIPD for her outstanding work, dedication, and passion throughout the course.

The Student of the Year is chosen by the branch’s chair, Melanie Kinsella.

Jasmine said: “I joined AW Jenkinson Forest Products in 2019 after deciding not to attend university, and I have never looked back. I have gained such brilliant friendships and working relationships and great knowledge of the company.

“I love working in the HR department as no two days are the same, from recruitment to learning and development to policies and legislation.

“I am so thrilled be a part of the business’ ongoing growth and development and I am excited to see what the future holds.”
