Workington Town will face League One leader Barrow a week on Sunday not having played for a month.
Town’s game at Rochdale this weekend has been called off because of COVID-19 in the Hornets camp.
Chairman Les Smallwood said: “It means we have had Coventry at home postponed; took a break like everyone else for the Challenge Cup final and now have lost the Rochdale game.
“We were just going well, too, with a superb draw at Barrow when we could have won and then a big win over West Wales.
“Barrow at home is a big one, a potential championship decider and it means we won’t have played at all for a month.
“Now some would argue it means you go into the contest fresh but there’s also the view that you will be rusty through not playing games.
“With the League working on a percentage basis this year, coming into effect when you’ve played 14 of your 18 games, we want to fit them all in.
“But there are no more free weekends and Rugby League say that part time clubs can’t be forced to play mid-week.
“We would be prepared to meet Coventry halfway and forfeit home advantage if it meant fitting the game in.
“Mind you Coventry are starting to show a bit of form at the moment and it will be interesting to see how they come on at Barrow on Sunday.”
Town are currently second in the table on 83.33 per cent from nine games with Barrow leading on 85 per cent from 10.
