New Workington Reds boss Chris Willcock is looking for a final pre-season game next month to get another look at his squad.
Willcock took charge for the first time at Consett on Saturday; will be at Carlisle City on Tuesday night and has Lancaster City coming to Borough Park on Saturday.
He would like to schedule a game for Saturday, August 7.
He said: “It leaves a blank Saturday a week before we start the League programme so I think it would be beneficial to have another game in there.
“It might not be easy as a number of Leagues start then a week before us but we will see what we can come up with.”
The new manager says he believes Workington have a talented squad and they play a style of football which they enjoy, and so do the fans.
“I like the way the team plays so I don’t think there’s a lot to change.
“I do plan a couple of tweaks and I asked to use them before the game at Consett but I thought we were a bit flat in the first half.
“When I explained it more at half-time they were more comfortable with things and in the first half an hour of the second-half I thought we were good.
“We had more intensity, used the ball well and created some good chances after getting the equaliser.
“It was unfortunate to concede so late because overall I thought a draw was probably the fairest result.
“The disappointing thing was that we conceded both goals from corners and marking in those situations is something I will be working on.
“It wasn’t good that we conceded so many free kicks which enabled them to put pressure on us in our own box.
“But it’s very early days and we have time to work on things before August 14, which is another good reason to get in a game on August 7.”
