With the competitive season just a fortnight away, Cumbrian RU clubs are involved in serious warm-up games tomorrow.
Three of them play in North One West with Carlisle set to host Kendal on the opening day of September 4.
Tomorrow Carlisle flex their muscles with a testing clash with Alnwick from North Premier, the League above.
Alnwick will host the game after missing out on a game last week at Aspatria after the Black Reds had to cry-off because of so many unavailabilities.
Kendal have a home friendly arranged with the Leeds club Moortown. The Cumbrians were also denied a game last when the Ilkley fixture was called off.
Penrith, who start the League season with a tough trip to Stockport on September 4, have a home game arranged tomorrow with Preston Grasshoppers.
It’s a tough one as Preston play in the North Premier but Penrith will be strengthened this season by the return of two former players.
Outside back Aaron Pampilon and tough forward JJ Key have committed themselves to the Winters Park cause after a few years away.
Aspatria have moved to Durham/Northumberland One this season and will play their final warm-up game at Bower Park against Tarleton – old friends from North Two West.
