Man arrested for assaults, imitation firearm possession and criminal damage

A man has been arrested for being in possession of an imitation firearm, a number of assaults and criminal damage.

A man has been arrested for being in possession of an imitation firearm, a string of assaults and criminal damage.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident on October 29 at around 4pm on Abbots Vale, Barrow.

It is reported that a man was in possession of a firearm which was found to be an imitation.

During the incident a man and women were assaulted, the man suffered facial injuries. Damage was also caused to a property.

An 18-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of:

  • Two counts Criminal damage to a property
  • Two counts of assault by beating
  • Common assault of an emergency worker
  • Possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence

He has been released on police bail.
