The Prime Minister is facing calls for his resignation after reports intensify about Christmas parties held inside Downing Street during coronavirus restrictions last year.
Scottish National Party leader Ian Blackford told fellow MPs at Prime Minister’s Questions this afternoon that “authoritative reports” suggest three parties were held at Downing Street last year while the country was subject to lockdown restrictions – with one said to have taken place inside Mr Johnson’s flat.
Mr Blackford subsequently called for the Prime Minister’s resignation, with Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross saying Mr Johnson should resign if it is found that he “misled Parliament” on the issue.
A number of Labour MPs and the Green Party leader Caroline Lucas have also called for his resignation.
