A multiple award-winning business is backing the Cumbria Food Awards to give other firms the chance to shine.

Chartered accountants and tax and business advisers Lamont Pridmore is to sponsor the Dining Pub of the Year award at the independent Cumbria Food Awards.

The firm has a large number of clients in the hospitality, food and drink and leisure and tourism sectors.

Having won regional and national awards themselves, chief executive and managing partner Graham Lamont said the team was aware of the considerable benefits involved.

“It provides that independent verification of what you’re doing and it increases the trust in the service, because of the fact you’re an award-winning business,” he said.

“That’s really why we quite enjoy sponsoring awards, as it can significantly boost business.”

Graham said Lamont Pridmore has been working particularly closely with its hospitality clients since March 2020 and recognised the challenges facing the industry.

“The sector’s had a tough time and anything that we can do to help to support the sector and promote its excellent work, the better.”

The long-established firm provides a full range of services including business advice, tax advice, wealth planning and investment.

Graham said they differ from others because of their three-pronged approach of helping clients to make more money, including increasing the value of their businesses; keeping clients’ tax liabilities to a minimum; and investing their wealth wisely and protecting the business and family, creating a wealth-life plan.

Lamont Pridmore, which was founded in 1896, has 65 members of staff working from branches throughout Cumbria, which enables the firm to get to know its clients.

They work with about 2,500 business clients and several hundred who are retired but continue to trust Lamont Pridmore with their affairs.

The firm also works with businesses in other parts of the UK and internationally.

Some clients have been with Lamont Pridmore for decades and the firm acts for multiple generations of families.
