Aspatria have rearranged a postponed Durham Northumberland One game for what should have been a free Saturday – February 26.
The home game with West Hartlepool, which should have been the first game of the New Year on January 8, was called off because a COVID outbreak at the North East club.
Wests are currently fifth in the table, 12 points off a top four slot which would earn them promotion, but they have games in hand of three of the teams ahead of them.
Aspatria, with half the season still to play, are seventh but just five points behind Wests and astill hopeful they can force themselves into the top four reckoning.
They have a big game on Saturday when they entertain South Shields Westoe who are fourth in the table – some 17 points better off than the Black Reds from a game more.
Before they can think about the rearranged game with West Hartlepool, Aspatria have an important month coming up for as well as Westoe on Saturday they also have to play Stockton and Medicals, who are above them in the table and also Novocastrians who are just below.
Aspatria’s Barney Clegg said: “Wests are challenging hard for a top four spot but everyone at Aspatria will be hoping that the Black Reds also remain in the hunt to make this game on February 26 even more significant.”
