Whitehaven and Workington Town are set for a third derby clash in the Betfred Championship this coming season.

Already programmed for home and away clashes at the LEL Arena and Derwent Park, the West Cumbrian rivals will also meet at Headingley.

It’s the Summer Bash, and the first time the annual festival has been held anywhere other than Blackpool.

The festival was first played in 2015 and has been held at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road since then.

Whitehaven versus Workington will be played on Sunday, July 31 with a 5.15pm kick-off.

That’s sandwiched in between Barrow Raiders v Widnes Vikings (3pm) and York City Knights v Newcastle Thunder (7-30pm).

There are four games on the Saturday (July 30) with the line-up – Sheffield v London (12.45pm), Batley v Dewsbury (3pm), Halifax v Bradford (5.15pm) and Featherstone v Leigh (7.30pm).

Tickets go on sale today with day and week-end ticket options available.

Season ticket holders of Championship sides can buy direct from their clubs and receive 50 per cent off the price of their ticket.
