Attempted burglary in Penrith sparks police investigation

Police are investigating an attempted burglary in the Castletown area of Penrith.

A man is reported to have entered a property on the afternoon of January 31, was disturbed by the resident and then left. The man entered via an unlocked front door.

The man is described as white, aged in his late twenties, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and of slim build. He was clean-shaven and had short fair hair. He was wearing a blue top and light-coloured trousers. 

Nothing was reported as taken.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to report it online via www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit, quoting incident number 130 of February 2. You can also call 101 and ask to speak to PC 1728 HAMBLIN.
