Workington Town will have John Hutchings in the squad for Sunday’s Challenge Cup clash with Dewsbury Rams at Derwent Park.
The winger turned prop limped off against Featherstone on February 13 with a hamstring problem which would have kept him out of last week’s postponed game against Halifax.
The extra time to recover has seen him make excellent progress hence him being named in the 21 to tackle the Rams.
Unfortunately Town will be without one of the heroes of the performance against Featherstone as Marcus O’Brien gas a shoulder/collarbone problem so misses out on the Cup game.
Former Newcastle Thunder Evan Simons would have been available if last week’s game had not been postponed but he has to sit out the second match of his suspension.
Also still missing from the line-up is former Egremont amateur Matty Henson who has an ankle injury which is taking longer than hoped to mend.
The long-term absentees continue to be forwards David Weetman and Steve Scholey.
Town’s squad is: Barnes, Bickerdike, Brown, Clarke, Clegg, Dawson, Doran, Fitzsimmons, Forber, Hutchings, Lightowler, O’Donnell, Olstrom, Postlethwaite, Singleton, Steele, Teare, Thomas, Thomson, Walker, Young.
Dewsbury Rams have also named their 21 for the cup tie and include former Town loanee Chris Annakin.
The full squad is: Annakin, Beckett, Beharrell, Butterworth, Carr, Dixon, Gabriel, Greensmith, Hall, Kidd, Knowles, Ryder, Schofield, Smith, Speakman, Stevens, Sweeting, Sykes, Tomlinson, Walker, Walton.
