Barrow can still not break free of the relegation zone in League Two.
Another home draw – this time 1-1 against Walsall – keeps the Bluebirds third bottom just two points clear of the bottom two.
A spectacular opener from John Rooney on 35 minutes wasn’t enough as the Saddlers earned a point with a goal midway through the second-half from Donervon Daniels.
When Rooney curled in a fine effort from the edge of the area it was Barrow’s first goal in four games, and it’s not difficult to pinpoint where Mark Cooper’s problems have been.
Cooper’s side have tightened up defensively but they are not scoring enough at the other end.
They were fortunate not to concede the opening goal when a corner was deflected goalwards and it needed a goal-line clearance from James Jones to keep Barrow on terms.
But the hosts grew into the game and showed a lot of endeavour as they closed down the opposition with some excellent pressing.
There was a chance for former Walsall forward Josh Gordon when he tried to lift the ball over the advancing keeper Carl Rushworth but the effort dropped just wide.
Ten minutes before the break Rooney scored the opener with a picture effort, curling then ball in off the post from 20 yards.
Robbie Gotts was working particularly hard for Barrow and he wasn’t far away just before half time after finding space and shooting just over the top.
As the second-half developed Walsall saw more of the ball and drew level on 67 minutes.
A right-wing free kick was planted past Paul Farman by the head of Daniels – his first goal for the club.
Walsall substitute Devante Rodney almost grabbed all three points with a powerful shot in injury time which Farman did well to hold at the first attempt.
