Internet services have suffered a blow in Cockermouth after a BT cabinet has been damaged by a car.
It is understood that a vehicle collided into the cabinet, on Station Road at the crossroads with Gallowbarrow, damaging the fibre broadband.
Residents and some shops are reporting that they are having issues with internet, wi-fi and phone connections and is affecting ee and BT services.
Engineers are on site now and it is likely temporary traffic lights will be installed while work is carried out.
It is not known how long the work will take, although some users are saying they have been told a week.
