Deer Orchard recovered from a title-damaging run of results to make it through to a cup final last night.

The Cockermouth side beat Salterbeck 4-0 to reach the final of the Premier Division Divisional Cup.

Orchard, who will celebrate their Diamond Jubilee in the 2022/23 season, scored goals through Luke Graham (2) and Sam Wright (2).

It means they will face two consecutive finals against the likely Premier Division champions Northside – the League Cup at Borough Park on May 5 (6.30pm ko) and the Divisional Cup at Flimby on May 8.

Northside are still on course for the quadruple as they also contest the President’s Cup final on May 1 against Sun Inn and need one more win from their last two games to clinch the Premier Division title.

Sun Inn, however, are gearing up for that final and last night shone brightly as they swamped Dearham 8-1 – scoring all nine goals.

Mally Graham helped himself to five goals with Richard O’Keefe netting a hat-trick while Dearham’s response came from an own goal.

In Division One JJ’s won 6-0 at the Junction with goals from Ryan Byrne (2), Dave Byers (2), Jamie MacArthur and Ryan O’Pray.

Highfield and Maryport Athletic will play tonight and it will have a bearing on the fight for the Division One title. Athletic share top spot with Senhouse Street but have two games in hand, while Sun Inn Athletic are also in the frame.
