Carlisle rugby club is warning its members to be careful in answering emails purporting to be from the club president.
The club is asking their members not to respond to any emails from Pitchero said to be from individuals of Carlisle RUFC.
The club warning said: “We are aware of a number of members who have received a contact form submission from the Pitchero site allegedly from the president Sue Glendinning, and others, asking to respond to them on a discreet matter, to an email address that is a scam address.
“The scammer is after money, in this instance through fraudulent Amazon vouchers. This has been reported to the relevant authorities.”
The club say they do not communicate individually with members through the Pitchero website, and any such communications should be treated with suspicion.
