Cumbria’s Black Bull Inn has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
The Black Bull, at Sedbergh, has been nominated in the pub and bar category of the Cateys.
Hundreds of nominations were sent in and the Cumbrian venue is one of four to make the shortlist, alongside the Wigmore, the Langham in London and the Loch & the Tyne in Old Windsor.
The annual awards, run by the Caterer magazine, are the biggest of their kind in the hospitality industry and are designed to recognise the latest emerging brands and the highest flyers in the sector.
Black Bull co-owner James Ratcliffe said: ‘’It’s fantastic that we’ve been shortlisted for a Catey Award. This award category in particular is really important to us because it not only recognises culinary flair and innovation but also sound business practice, exemplary customer service, real commitment to team development and involvement in the local community- all of which we are hugely committed to undertaking to the best of our ability.’’
Winners will be announced on July 5.
