Workington and Carlisle United have confirmed their annual pre-season friendly will be played at Borough Park again.
Saturday, July 9 has been named as the date for this season’s warm-up clash when Paul Simpson will bring his Blues squad to west Cumbria.
Carlisle have also arranged to play their other Cumbrian neighbours with trips to Penrith (Friday, July 1) and Kendal (Wednesday, July 6) also confirmed.
Reds returning boss Danny Grainger is also keen to maintain good relations with the other Cumbrian clubs and is looking to confirm dates with Penrith, Carlisle City and Whitehaven Amateurs.
It’s also highly likely that with Kendal being relegated, and the clubs not meeting in League games, Reds will also arrange to play the Mintcakes before the season officially starts on August 13.
Cleator Moor Celtic could also be on the list, too, as Brian Dawson has just left Reds Development squad to take the reins with the North West Counties side.
