Workington Reds Ladies celebrated this season achievements at their annual presentation night.
The team finished the season in fifth position in the league and achieved a club record points total of 36 in the North West Women’s Regional Division 1.
There were five awards on offer and these were shared between four players.
Winning the Young Player of the Year award was Sydney Bragg.
This was Sydney’s first season at the club having joined last summer from the County Youth League.
Coach Rebecca Scott said: “Throughout the season Sydney has shown unbelievable commitment to the club and a great desire to improve and develop herself.
“She has impressed us with her play on the field and is massively appreciated by her fellow team mates as well as all the coaching staff.”
Top Goal Scorer was won by Hayley Bracken.
With a total of 23 league goals and two cup goals from 20 appearances, Hayley has been in absolute top form.
In the second half of the season, she sustained an injury which resulted in her missing several games. There is no doubt that her goal tally would have grown significantly if she had been able to return to the team sooner.
Typically, of Hayley, she came back into the team eager to make up on missed opportunities and finished the season strongly culminating with a hat-trick against Penrith in their last game.
Players’ Player of the season went to club captain Naomi Foster.
This was a close contest which is a great indication of the efforts and quality of the team.
Naomi said: “It is a massive privilege for me to receive this award as it has been voted for by my fellow team-mates.”

Receiving this accolade is a sign of the players appreciation of Naomi’s efforts throughout the season. Week in, week out, she continually encourages the team and gives 100 per cent effort in every game she plays in and sets extremely high expectation on herself too.
Chloe Henderson was awarded the Manager’s Player of the Year.
Manager Paul Mackenzie said: “This has been a very difficult decision for me to make as there are many worthy winners of this award.
“I could have given this to several players for their displays throughout the season. In my opinion Chloe has excelled in all these areas throughout my time in charge of the team. It’s clear to me how much playing for the team means to her and how important the team’s future success is going forward.
“She has great vision in her passing and link up play and is tenacious in her tackling too.”
The Player of the Year award went to Hayley Bracken.
The award was decided on by the number of Player of the Game being awarded by opposing teams throughout the season.
Hayley continually harasses the opposition with her strong physical presence and unsettles them with her eagerness to turn half chances into goal scoring opportunities.
She works hard in her defensive duties and is clinical in front of goal.
Working towards next season has already started for the club as they are hoping to add to the existing squad to strengthen numbers and give a healthy competition for positions.
Mackenzie said: “We’ve had some extremely talented young ladies training with us since the season finished. We are taking this opportunity to have a look at what they would bring to the team and we have been really impressed with their ability and attitude so far.
“The club would like to thank everyone that attended the presentation event and supported us by, either donating raffle prizes, or by buying tickets.
“We would also like to thank everyone that contributes to the club through sponsorship, be it kit, travel, match day or player sponsorship.”
