The family of a man who was killed in a collision in Flimby on Sunday have penned a poem in tribute to him.

Mr Muir, 43, of Parton, was killed alongside Bethanie Clark, 31, of Lowca, on the A596 at Flimby.

The collision happened at 12.08am and involved a Nissan Qashqai. The pair were pedestrians.

The poem says:

“You were just one in a million the best son there could ever be,

“Yes, we had our ups and down as a loving family,

“Why did you have to pass so tragically,

“David we will sorely miss you in our family,

“Our memories will never falter of the good times we did share,

“For in our hearts of love you will be forever there,

“So, my son I say to you a fond goodbye and writing this with a tear in my eye.”

A 30-year-old woman from West Cumbria was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. She was later bailed.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident two of May 15 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Bethanie Clark’s family have paid tribute to their daughter, calling her one in a million.
