
Luke Johnson returned to winning ways with victory at the Keswick 10-mile time trial organised by Velo Club Cumbria.
Johnson, of Workington, covered the flat 10-mile course alongside Bassenthwaite Lake in 20 minutes and 45 seconds at an average speed of 28.92mph.
He was 27 seconds clear of David Gleave in second place while Allistair Moffatt, who was beaten for the first time this season, was third in a time of 21:41.
Fastest female rider was Sue Toppin with a time of 26:49 in 16th place overall.
VCC’s club time trials continue on Tuesday May 31 with the 17-miler from Bothel to Keswick. Sign on is from 6pm at the layby near the entrance of Keswick Reach caravan park.
