Carlisle have to make three changes for their big Cumbria League Premier Division clash at home to Furness tomorrow.
Overall the club has nine players missing across first and second elevens, largely because of weddings being held that day.
Against the reigning champions League leaders Carlisle, who have won all five games so far, will be without Ben Davidson, Chris Blythe and Phil Frazer are absentees from the side which beat Cleator last week.
Fraser Conn, the usual opening bowler who missed out last week, comes back in along with two youngsters.
Johnny Westgarth, a left arm spinner, is included along with Patrick Muldoon, second team wicket-keeper who is being used as a batsman after scoring well in the Eden Valley League side.
Furness are still waiting for Pakistani pro Saeed Khan to arrive after delays over his visa and will be looking for a sub pro if he still hasn’t been cleared to play.
Last Sunday they used Kendal’s Indian professional Rongsen Jonathan in their Higson Cup win at Egremont but he will be needed by his club tomorrow.
Furness are third in the table behind Carlisle and Cockermouth, nine points behind the leaders and just one behind the Sandair side.
It’s a big week-end for Furness as they travel to Walkden on Sunday in the next round of the National Cup competition.
Walkden only completed their previous round tie last Sunday when they beat Dalton by four wickets after bowling out the Cumbria League side for 66.
Callum Leach (10) was the only Dalton batsman to reach double figures and the south Cumbrians needed 28 extras to get to 66. Mustafa Bashir took 4-18 and Junaid Farooq took 4-23.
Dalton had them 50-6 but did not have enough runs on the board and the hosts got home without further loss. Rangika Pinnala Don took 3-17 and Amari Goodridge had 3-31.
Last week Dalton had moved off the foot of the table with la good win at Egremont but expect it to be tougher on Saturday hosting second-in-the-table Cockermouth.
A good home win over Millom kept up the challenge from the Sandair side who will be keen to know the Carlisle v Furness result when they finish.
Fourth-placed Keswick won at Workington and entertain Egremont with the Lakes side happy with the contributions of new pro Risith Upamal who is coping well with the task of following established club pro Geeth Kumara.
He’s currently an average of 93.67 and only Carlisle’s Mike Slack has scored more runs than his 281.
Workington had been going well but have suffered two successive home defeats and they visit Cleator, who are also in need of a pick-up after last week’s heavy defeat at Furness.
Whitehaven slipped to the bottom of the table with their heavy home defeat to Carlisle but are level with Dalton and only one point behind Haverigg.
So their trip to Haverigg is seen as a crucial confrontation with the Playground side waiting for a final fitness check on professional Timycen Maruma. He has been unable to make his debut because of a broken hand but is close to being ready and the Playground club have not looked for a sub pro this week-end.
The sixth game in the top flight sees Millom hosting Wigton, both sides having lost last week, but sitting mid-table sixth and seventh respectively.
