A 17th century South Cumbrian pub is getting ready to open its doors this week after a six-figure revamp.
The Grade II listed Snooty Fox in Kirkby Lonsdale has been closed for six weeks to undergo the refurbishment.
It will reopen on Wednesday and the coaching inn will now open for breakfast and morning coffee.
The cobbled courtyard at the rear of the main building has had its seating improved and as well as the new-look outside area, there is a classic bar and restaurant, a TV sports zone and eight letting rooms.
General manager Ben Edwards said: “This is such a stunning pub. It’s so eye-catching and the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale and it is just so lovely to be here. It’s a beautiful pub with so much history and just a great place to meet friends and family, have a chat and a drink, relax or enjoy bite to eat with us.
“It’s been good to take some time to give the old fox the little bit of care it needed and we’re so pleased we didn’t have to close for long. This historic pub has bags of character and can offer the excellent style and service that you’d expect in this day and age. I think people will really enjoy sitting out in our wonderful courtyard now and relax.”
