Whitehaven and Workington Town have agreed a permanent swap deal for two of their players.
Perry Singleton will move to Whitehaven from Derwent Park while Glenn Riley will switch from Workington Town to the LEL Arena.
Originally the plan was the pair to switch clubs for a month but before that period has completed both clubs are happy to make the arrangement permanent.
Singleton has impressed at Whitehaven despite playing in two heavy defeats and head coach Jonty Gorley admits he has been a long-time admirer.
Gorley said: “I jumped at the chance to take Perry on loan for a month and he has just enhanced the way I feel about him, and what I already knew you he would bring to Whitehaven.
“I know the month loan is not finished but I didn’t need a month to make my mind up about Pez. So we’ve decided to sign him for the rest of the season.
“There are two sides to this. The first one is Pez has shown in two games that he will be a great addition for us. Secondly, with the injury crisis we are going through this year, it frees a place up for another loan player as we are only allowed five at any one time.
“Pez will add another experienced head to our squad along with his aggressive defensive style and his utility value.”
Referring to the departure of Glenn Riley, director Ashley Kilpatrick said: “As a club we would like to thank Glenn for his time and efforts at the club and he goes with everyone’s best wishes.

“It’s unfortunate it hasn’t worked out for Glenn this time round with a knee injury sustained last year and some off the field stuff this year. As I’ve said previously Glenn had trained the house down in pre-season. All the best to Glenn and hopefully it works out for him.”
Riley played for Town at Leigh where he was singled out for making dangerous contact with an opponent but the disciplinary committee considered it not worthy of a ban.
Town coach Chris Thorman said: “The chance came to do something a little different with Glenn. He had a couple of weeks left on the loan, as did Perry, but with the need for Haven to access loans it made sense to make the deals permanent earlier from both sides.
“Glenn is a big, aggressive middle who has Championship experience so we’re looking forward to seeing him play at Derwent Park and he’s in contention against London Broncos.”
