Whitehaven forward Ryan King is the subject of an RFL investigation into an alleged biting incident.
It follows the Jubilee Thursday Championship match between Haven and Batley at the LEL Arena.
Australian King, 25, was placed on report for the incident, which occurred in the first half of the match which Batley won 46-6.
Bulldogs centre Josh Hodson made a formal complaint of biting, resulting in both captains being called over.
The RFL disciplinary report notes an area of redness was detected on Hodson’s arm, and the incident has now been referred for further investigation.
King has been a stand-out forward for Haven since signing for the club ahead of the 2021 season.
Haven had to fight-off several suitors for King’s signature after his debut season.
There was another issue for Whitehaven in the Batley game involving skipper Karl Dixon.
The former Wath Brow star has been handed a two-match ban for a Grade C trip.
He will miss Sunday’s visit of Halifax and the subsequent home game with York City Knights on June 26.
A third Whitehaven player, Karl Olstrom was sent off against Batley but will not suffer a suspension. He was instead given a caution by the disciplinary panel.
