Kyle Harrison has been reunited with former Workington Reds boss Chris Willcock at Stalybridge Celtic.

The 27-year-old defender has become Willcock’s first summer signing for Celtic since taking the job last month.

Harrison is the last of the four good players who have left Workington to get fixed up for the new season, with Brad Carroll, Brad Hubbold and Nico Evangelinos all joining Lancaster City.

It’s the third club where Harrison will have played under Willcock having been with him at Ramsbottom and most recently Workington.

Harrison, who can operate at centre-back or full-back had a successful season in the Northern Premier League Division One West and was named in the league’s team of the season.

Previously he had spent three years at Stalybridge’s neighbours and close rivals Hyde and was part of the team that reached the FA Cup 1st Round, playing in their 4-0 defeat against MK Dons.

He has also featured for Radcliffe and Buxton before joining Willcock at Ramsbottom and then Workington in addition to a short spell at Widnes.

Harrison scored two goals for Workington last season and registered three assists, and according to the stats won 72 per cent of the 28 games that he played in.

After signing for Celtic, Kyle said: “I’m here to be successful and move the club forward. I’m excited about my future and the project ahead.”
