Top Gear presenters Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris will be put through their paces by Carlisle trainers in this week’s episode.

The BBC One show was in the county filming at SP Training, which delivered training to the trio as they attempted to qualify as lorry drivers.

Their exploits will be shown in Sunday’s episode.

Mick Feeney, lead instructor at SP Training, said: “I had the pleasure of training Freddie out on the road, he was a total gentleman and down to earth.

“He was also really easy to teach and got to grips with things pretty quickly. He shared a few funny anecdotes with me while we were out on road too and we were singing along to Elvis’ songs while preparing for his test which was a lot of fun!

“It was an absolute pleasure working with the team and all of us at SP Training will be tuning in on Sunday evening! ”

The programme will be broadcast on BBC One on Sunday at 8pm and will also be available on iPlayer.
