A Lake District holiday park has been rated the best glamping site in the UK by a leading website for parents.

Mumsnet listed its top 14 glamping sites – and Ullswater’s The Quiet Site was named the best overall.

The site used reviews from travel experts and those left by people on its own forums, plus from other online reviews to see how consumers rated their experiences.

It said: “Finally, we cross-referenced all that information to compile a list of glamping sites that performed well across the board so that we could bring you a definitive selection.”

Ullswater’s The Quiet Site, offers of a number of glamping options for a family stay, including underground glamping burrows, carbon positive Gingerbread Houses and wooden camping pods. It also has all-weather pitches for tents motorhomes and caravans.

Daniel Holder, managing director of The Quiet Site, said: “We are delighted that the mums on Mumsnet have selected The Quiet Site as the UK’s Best Overall Glamping Site for 2022.

“The Quiet Site has been welcoming families for almost 60 years and we are now welcoming back third generation campers from the same families.

“We have made many changes over the years, including new accommodation types, improved facilities and now operating as a carbon zero business generating 70 per cent of our own energy, however the warm welcome and spectacular setting remains, and is just part of the reasons that 80 per cent of our visitors are returning guests.”
