A free festival designed to help attendees explore ways to live a healthier life is set to be held in Barrow this weekend.

The #BeWellFest will host a diverse range of workshops on living well, including coping with loss and grief, fun sports, Tai Chi, rare animal breeds and arts and crafts.

There will also be an opportunity to make free wraps and fruit kebabs and attendees will be able to seek advice from professionals and take-home freebies detailing how to live a healthier life.

The event has been organised by Cumbria County Council, Barrow Intergrated Care Community (ICC), Barrow Raiders, Mind in Furness, Active Cumbria and Cando FM.

Maxine Baron, Development Lead for Barrow ICC, said: “The event is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and find out more about the brilliant health and wellbeing services and organisations we have here in Barrow.”

The festival will take place on Saturday July 9 at Barrow Raiders Matt Johnston Prestige Stadium, Duke Street from 10am to 3pm.
