LATEST: Body found in Ullswater
Emergency services and trained volunteers have restarted their search in the Lake District to look for a paddleboarder who disappeared over the weekend.
The man was on Ullswater on Sunday afternoon when he got into difficulty.
Emergency services were alerted after the man’s friend and others on the lake were unable to find him.
Searches have continued since then for the paddleboarder, who is from the Greater Manchester area.
Divers, Coastguard rescue teams, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Fire and Rescue, Maryport Inshore Rescue and the North West Underwater Search Team have all been involved.
Search teams have also used helicopters to sweep the area in a bid to find him.
The teams are searching in daylight hours and being stood down in the evening as the light fades and searching becomes impossible.
The man was reported to be paddleboarding with a friend in the area of Aira Point, close to the ferry stop, when he fell into the water. Emergency services were called at about 1.10pm.
The man’s family have been made aware and are being supported by police officers, Cumbria police said.
People are asked to stay clear of the area while emergency services continue to work.
Aira Force car park is understood to be closed.
