There was a special moment for Jake and Zack Green at last night’s HTA meeting on Cold Fell at Standing Stone Farm.

Relatively new to trailing they scored their first win with Green Flyer who led in the open non-winners.

HTA secretary Fiona Dixon said: “They were over the moon as both Jake and Zack are relatively new to the sport.

“They have worked exceptionally hard training their own dog as well as volunteering and helping others out on the field.

“They only came into the sport last year and were given a hound that was already trained and running which is half the game and it has allowed them to get fully involved.

“Over the season they have picked up a few minor tickets but this is their first win which is brilliant.”

Denise Bland’s Huntsman’s Ruby finished second, in what really summed up the night for the ace Patterdale trainer.

Her puppy table leader Huntsman’s Rebel could only manage fourth in the junior trail. Joy and Brian Lister’s Lady Million won from Ann and Malcolm Holmes’ Sweet Dreams.

The opening senior trail had seen table leader Duchess Ava return to winning ways, collecting her ninth success for James McLelland to go three clear at the top of Huntsman’s Que who could only finish fifth for the Bland kennel.

Coming home in second place was Denis Peare and Jackie Gill’s Miterdale Duchess.
