The A595 near Whitehaven was closed in both directions for much of yesterday, November 8, due to flooding.
Heavy rainfall overnight caused the issue and National Highways contractors worked to clear the water.
The flooding has happened between the B5295 Ribton Moorside and the Hensingham roundabout.
The road is clear today, November 9.
Flood alerts are in place for the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater and the coast at north Morecambe Bay.
Flooding is expected at Keswick Campsite.
